IT Partner, Security Partner or Combined Partner: which partnership fits your organisation?

Not every organisation needs the same thing. Secundra works with three formulas: IT Partner, Security Partner and Combined Partner. We go through what each one covers and help you choose based on your situation, risk profile and obligations such as NIS2.

Anyone looking for an IT partner quickly runs into suppliers who pour everything into one package, or specialists who only cover a slice. We deliberately chose three clear formulas, so you pay for what you need and not for what sounds good in a brochure. Below we explain what an IT Partner, a Security Partner and a Combined Partner cover exactly, and how to choose based on your own situation.

IT Partner: your day-to-day IT in good hands

As IT Partner we take on the day-to-day management of your IT. Think of support for your staff, management of servers, network and devices, updates, back-ups and keeping an eye on your infrastructure. In short: everything that lets your people work without hassle and makes the technology run along instead of getting in the way.

This formula fits well when your main question is operational. You want reliable IT, a contact who reacts quickly and someone who thinks ahead about your infrastructure. Cybersecurity is woven in at a basic level here, but the centre of gravity is continuity and smooth operation.

Security Partner: focus on protection and compliance

As Security Partner we focus specifically on your cybersecurity. That goes further than a virus scanner: we work on protecting your environment, on compliance and on the human side through awareness and training of your staff. Because most incidents do not start with a technical flaw, but with someone clicking the wrong link at the wrong moment.

  • Protection of your systems, access and data, tuned to your risk profile.
  • Support with compliance and obligations such as NIS2, with an approach that stays workable for an SME.
  • Awareness and training, so your team learns to recognise phishing and other threats.

This formula is interesting when your day-to-day IT is already well arranged elsewhere, or when you have an internal IT lead but want to raise security to a higher level. Organisations in a sensitive sector or with legal obligations also often choose security specifically.

Combined Partner: IT and security in one hand

The Combined Partner bundles both worlds: the day-to-day IT management and the cybersecurity, with one partner who oversees the whole. The big advantage is coherence. IT and security are no longer separate islands but are tuned to each other. Whoever manages your network also knows how it is secured, and that makes a difference in response speed and in accountability.

For many SMEs and non-profits this is the most logical choice, precisely because they do not have a large internal IT department. You have one contact for everything, and you do not have to bridge the gap yourself between an IT supplier and a security specialist who blame each other when something goes wrong.

How do you choose the right formula?

The right choice depends on where you stand today. A few questions help you move forward quickly: have you already arranged your day-to-day IT well, or are you looking for a partner for exactly that? How sensitive is your data and how heavily does an incident weigh on your operations? Do you work in a sector with specific obligations, for example under NIS2? And do you have someone internally who can follow up on IT or security, or does it always get added on top?

If you are hesitating between two formulas, that is no problem. In a conversation we map out your situation and advise honestly which approach suits you best, even if that is the lighter formula. Growth is always possible, and moving from IT Partner to Combined Partner is a matter of expanding, not starting over.
